There are so MANY great titles from Rizzoli hitting the bookshelves this fall and one lucky All the Best Reader will win all eight of my favorite titles (a $500 value) courtesy of Rizzoli. So what do you do for a chance to win? Simply leave a comment on All the Best Blog (at the bottom of this post) telling us which title you are most anxiously awaiting and why. Over the next week I will highlight each title.

The Necessary Verbiage: Contest closes on Sunday, September 25, 2011. One reader will be selected at random by a third-party and announced on All the Best Blog on Monday, September 26, 2011 (open to US and CAN residents only). Good Luck!

    The World of Muriel Brandolini
Muriel Brandolini’s exceptional taste and unconventional aesthetic have made her a celebrated international interior designer. Her multicultural background-Vietnam, the Caribbean, and France-has influenced her unusual style, which is a mix of exoticism, elegance, and fantasy. Her interiors are marked by a dynamic color sense, bold textures and patterns, and an unusual combination of antique and contemporary furnishings.
    Marisa Berenson
A captivating selection of images by the world’s leading photographers celebrating one of the most recognized faces in fashion and film.  Dubbed an “It Girl” by Yves Saint Laurent in the early 1970s, Marisa Berenson is the original modern muse-inspiring fashion designers, photographers, stylists, and fashion editors for over thirty years. Born of noble lineage-and the granddaughter of the famed fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli-Berenson’s meteoric rise began formally at age sixteen, leading to numerous covers and editorials in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and countless other high-end fashion and society magazines.

    Ralph Lauren
The landmark volume celebrating the life and work of Ralph Lauren is now available in a smaller, more portable edition. Unlike many designers, Ralph Lauren is not known for a single signature look, but rather for his sweeping dreams of American living. Over the course of his career, the images of luxury, adventure, and beauty that he created have come to define American style.

    The Way Home
Jeffrey Bilhuber, the decorator of choice for the creative elite-including fashion editors, designers, and musicians-presents his most recent projects, all of which exemplify the hallmarks of his inimitable style: flashpoints of inspiration from the past that embrace tradition while being rooted in the way we live today.

    Oliver Messel
A vibrant study of one of the iconic figures of twentieth-century design, whose Romantic, whimsical, and wholly original style influenced a generation of architects and decorators. Oliver Messel was one of England’s foremost interior designers of the twentieth century, whose work also spanned the worlds of the stage design, film, and architecture. Born into a creative family of wealthy bankers, his career began in 1925 designing for Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. He eventually became an internationally celebrated designer, branching out into drama, film, opera, interior design, textiles, and architecture.

Alberto Pinto Today Alberto Pinto Today
Alberto Pinto has infused contemporary flair into these—his most recent—interiors, which are the most innovative of his lengthy career. This sumptuously illustrated book features Alberto Pinto’s latest and most spectacular interiors. A diverse range of locations are explored, from contemporary apartments in New York and London to an English castle.

Martyn Lawrence-Bullard: Live, Love, and Decorate
For those who love boldness in design, Los Angeles-based interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard demonstrates his mastery of dramatic environments for a clientele of celebrities. Drawn to glamour, Martyn Lawrence Bullard moved from London to Los Angeles to pursue acting but became a star decorator instead. His designs balance the contemporary with the traditional, the Occidental with the ethnic.

Michael S. Smith Kitchens and Baths
The newest book from acclaimed designer Michael S. Smith showcases his exceptional take on kitchens and baths, the busiest yet most personal rooms in a home. Legendary designer Michael S. Smith has stories to tell about kitchens and bathrooms-those he has designed himself, and those that inspire him.

It’s the Ralph Lauren book I am looking forward to reading. I believe instead of “setting a style”, he took the spirit and history of the American people and turned it into design that speaks to the heart of America. His entire collection is one of comfort and elegance that appears to have been attained through the efforts of one’s own work.

I would love to get the Theater of Design because, as an interior designer, I believe that our job is to create drama in rooms, taking them from ordinary to amazing. Also, the PROCESS should be as entertaining as going to the theater. Clients spend a lot of money on these rooms and the journey should be as rewarding as the destination.

Oh my God! How does one chose? As I kept scrolling down, it kept getting better and better. Still, I would have to say that for me, “Marisa Berenson: A Life in Pictures” would be my choice.

As a jewelry designer, I find that I’ve always been attracted to personalities who’ve possessed that certain intangible, mysterious quality we would call “style”. If someone were to ask me whom I would like to walk into my shop in Paris, whom I would like to have as the “dream” client, Ms. Berenson wins hands down. I’ve never in all my life seen any woman who comes close to matching her. It’s the perfect balance of uptown and downtown. She manages to be uncompromisingly glamorous, and yet there’s always the slight whiff of “haute bohème” about her: sandalwood, Marrakech, and the clatter of dozens of bangles falling down her arm……

I think Americans don’t really know who Alberto Pinto is, and that’s too bad because in terms of being inventive, having a supreme sense of color sense, a handle on masterful object proportion and above all versatility… he’s amazing. What other designer can go from designing a home in Tangier or Egypt, a castle in Europe, to a chic apartment in Rome? Additionally he jumps from residential to commercial with the same magical skills. With no one set style, he listens to the environment and responds in a beautiful and appropriate way each time. He is inspirational.

While Ralph Lauren designs historically represented the ultimate exemplification of the American experience, the evolution of his work has transcended American borders, inviting the global community to join him and ‘Live the Legend’. Such an experience it would be to explore Ralph’s world!

In my home or with fashion, it is the way I live. Thank you so much for this opportunity; I appreciate all the tastemakers represented whose works influence all our worlds.

Live, Love & Decorate looks absolutely ‘delicious’. Martin is as talented as he is hunky. I swoon every time I hear that accent and I can’t get enough of his fabrics. I know I won’t be able to put it down!

In today’s economic climate, more than ever, I find that I turn to that American “ideal” best portrayed by Ralph Lauren, and the “world” he has created. With a nod to the classic forms of Americana, from Palm Beach and polo, to the 1920′s and Mr. Gatsby, to the Montana “big sky country”, Lauren has managed to take that which we’ve seen a million times, and make it not only his own, but fresh and au courant. He remembers the past while embracing the future, and always with an attitude of the glass half full. And that, especially now, gives me hope and makes me smile…and a smile these days…let’s face it, is priceless! I would like very much to read more about this man and his vision…

They say not to judge a book by its cover, but in this case I am doing just that. The cover of Live, Love, & Decorate is so beautiful and dynamic that I would choose that book first!

My wife and I are retired and love design blogs, books, inspiration. We feel a loss of “pretty” in many current interiors. Definitely the Oliver Messel book. He had it all:flair, talent, knowledge of the past, exuberance, success in both the old and new worlds. And thanks for your inspiring blog.

I have been anticipating the release of Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s first book, Live Love and Decorate, for several months already! Ever since the show Million Dollar Decorators (Bravo TV) came out, I have fallen in love with Martyn’s style and personality. One of the most amazing talents in the design world, Martyn can take any ordinary looking space and make it look like a “million dollars”. He also happens to be one of the sweetest and professional men in the industry. From the way he treats his clients to the way he interacts with his friends, he is 100% class all around, and yet maintains his professionalism all the way through.

I would be thrilled to win all these books, but in response to the question, definitely can’t wait for Live Love and Decorate :)

I am most excited about getting Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s “Live/Love/Decorate”! Ever since I saw Cheryl Tiegs’ Balinese decorated home I’ve been a fan! And most recently his design work for Sharon & Ozzie Osbourne and Cher’s high-rise Hollywood Hills apartments just confirmed why I like his style of design. Martyn creates rooms that are sexy and comfortable! His work is share genius!

This is a bit like asking, “Who is your favorite child?” (or what is the best Sunday soup recipe?…) Jeffrey Bilhuber’s The Way Home, Reflection of American Beauty warms my heart. Home is so important to a shelter porn addict like myself – and shelter blog reading addict…and I want everyone who comes to our home to feel welcomed and embraced…this title resonates with me. I own one of his books and found it very helpful and beautiful…

“The World of Muriel Brandonlini,” This will be a book of “culturally relevant” interiors of worldly thinking and influences. There is not an interior I have seen from Ms. Brandolini without feeling that an intimate space has been created from an experience of seeing the world. I excitedly await her book and the influence it will have on my own design thinking.
