Ladies, Ii could really use a boost in the arm like Design Camp! I run my own practice – just myself and a part time assistant . I am really loosing my passion because of all the difficulties running your own practice and keeping up with my three kids. I have been published but I really have the will and drive to take my practice to the next level but can’t seem to figure it out because I am so bogged down in the day to daybusiness of running my projects and life! I think Design Camp could be just what I need to recharge my batteries and ambition!

Exposure to other designers (to learn from the best), obtain direction (blogging, trends forecasting),motivation (memories of childhood camp fires and cheers ), to loosen up
(laugh and mingle) and most of all there’s a point in life when you just have to take it up
a notch! Get out of the box! Reach out!

In November I took classes for home staging and re- design and purchased an existing home staging business in early December. I have always had a love for design and enjoy free lance projects, but want to take it to another level. Considering opening a studio or retail spot. Help!?? Today, I am working with a web site designer…therefore, my website is “under construction”. My LLC is Hands on Designs,LLC.

I am not an interior designer, but I would love to go to design camp for several reasons. First, I can just imagine the buzz, the energy, the excitement that must result from getting so many talented, creative and passionate people in one room. I want to be part of that, as I can see it giving me some much needed personal and professional inspiration for 2013! On a more practical note, I work for an architecture firm and I would love to better understand the ins and outs of the interior design business so that I can better interface with our client’s designers. Finally, I’d just like to develop a better eye for good design!

Wow…what a great opportunity. I’d love to attend Design Camp not only to give a boost to my business but to give a boost to my passion! Learning is one of my goals for 2013 and what better opportunity to learn from some of the industries best, right here in my home city. Cheers to the new year and to the hope of attending Design Camp.

I am an Interior Designer from St. Louis, MO. I used to have my own store but now, after my second son was diagnosed with Asperger’s and subsequently severe Scoliosis, I decided to work out of the home and concentrate on raising four fantastic children. I would love to attend a design camp in hopes of expanding my horizons and listening to some reputable, experienced and motivating designers. I have traveled to Atlanta several times to attend Market and would look forward to tapping into the camp as well. Thanks!

I have worked as a designer for 12 years now part time out of a home office as I raised my children and as my next has emptied, I have been wondering whether or how to move forward. Whether it’s growing in confidence, needing a creative muse or looking for training to get both, I think Design Camp would be a great impetus to “land” somewhere. Thanks for telling us about this!

Attending this camp will be a fabulous opportunity, one that would kickstart my design career. I’ve just
moved to a new city, a city bouncing back from the recession , a city with homes in need of a makeover
yet with limited design sources and inspiration. I look at this move as an opportunity and I’d love to contribute
in any way to a design renaissance of sorts by renovating existing small homes here (this town loves
knockdowns) while preserving a bit of its history. My former residence was featured in several publications
(and it was a rental) so I know my talent is there. It would be great to network, learn, hone my skills and
have a little fun. Thanks for the opportunity. Fingers, toes and tape measure crossed.

High gloss entry doors for the dining room, petal pink accent wall for the living room, and milky-grey marble countertops for the kitchen. Oh my!. I go to bed each night with sweet dreams of redesigning my entire home. With two kids, a husband, and a dog; my dream options are limited to cost, comfort, and functionality. I am currently a full time event designer with a life-long passion for beautiful home decor and interior design. You can find me on Sunday evenings dissecting shelter magazines digital and print for the perfect pieces and design ideas that represent my dream home vision.. I would love to attend the design camp , so that I can be inspired to create the artful aesthetics to my home that will not only satisfy my design cravings but keep my busy family happy too.

I’m an independent designer focusing on kitchen and bath projects. For the past few years, I’ve been doing projects for existing clients and friends/acquaintances. Now, I’m looking to branch out and expand the business and need just the sort of tips and tricks that Design Camp teaches. I need to learn how best to use my time, when it’s best to outsource, and I need help navigating social media (again, where should I focus my time and resources? website, facebook, pinterest, houzz????) Learning from people who have “been there, done that” sure would be an inspiration.

As a student studying interior design at the University of Georgia and graduating in May, I have been fully immersed in many different aspects of interior design these past several years. I enjoy every minute of the design process and am ambitiously searching for a position with a design firm that will allow me to further develop my strengths in the field. After hearing about the event a few months ago, I have been anxiously reading all of the reviews and bios of the professionals that will be attendance at this prestigious event. As a student, I don’t really have the access to the funds it would take to pay to attend Design Camp which is why being awarded a free seats would be such an incredible opportunity. The many professionals that will be in attendance at Design Camp make me even more excited about the possible opportunity to be able to listen and learn from them. Both Lori Dennis and Kelli Ellis are designers I admire and being able to see how they became such successful women would be just what I need to succeed in this intriguing profession. I hope that this experience will allow me to gain a better knowledge of the field which I am so passionate about, while enjoying all that Design Camp is offering. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to Design Camp.

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to the interior design business 8 years ago through a friend.. We started a business with
good taste, some great contacts and limited design experience.! It has evolved over the years and been a fantastic ride. I started
my own company entering my sixth year this month. Always looking to learn more, refine and grow as a designer and as a business
woman, this Design Camp would be the opportunity of a lifetime. I’d absolutely love the chance to be able to attend and be inspired.

Because I believe dreams really DO come true! Okay…call me Cinderella but honestly, I think great design has everything to do with DREAMS, don’t you? Like listening to client’s dream, dreaming your vision for a space, creating rooms that are simply “dreamy” and yes… making folk’s dreams come true through fabulous design! My dream is to be selected to attend Design Camp in Atlanta this January. 2012 was an exciting year for my career. I participated in a successful Designer Showhouse, landed a (first time) full page magazine spread (alright…it was a local publication), but I have bigger dreams and want to work smart this year to achieve them. In the vein of lyrics to this song “dreams really DO come true, they can happen to YOU”…err, well (me…in this case) ‘cause I’m young at heart (albeit in hopes of help with my registration fee!) So…fingers and toes crossed that you pick me!

The last six months I had been struggling with what to do with my life. My kids are getting older and I just had much time on my hands. I was reading a blog, I can’t remember which one, that challenged its readers to find their passion in 2013. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved design, and I realized it is my passion. I’ve helped friends with their homes, but its always been more of a hobby. My husband said go for it. I love that man. I’m hoping to win this trip to Design Camp to jump start me into a new career by learning from the best in the business.

I feel the same as many of the people who have already commented so I’m not sure how you are going to decide! All I can say is I’ve dedicated the last few years to studying interior design at UCLA and know it’s my passion and what I want to do as a career. I have two children who are growing up fast and I have more time on my hands to dedicate to this love of mine. However, I’m scared to death of running my own business! What if I fail? It’s such a leap of faith! I need to gain the confidence and the skills to run a successful day-to-day business so that I can follow my dream and not end up an old lady with a whole bunch of regrets. Please choose me for one of your tickets to Design Camp! I really believe it will open up a world of possibilities for me and my family.

I’ve been a designer for 13+ years, but boy, could I use a shot in the arm. Come January, all I want to do is hibernate for the winter. At design, I consider myself a success. At business, not really. I’ve attacked social media marketing, seeking interviews, and networking, but I’m not as successful as I’d like in managing my office with technology and time management tools. And because I’m self-employed, accountability is always my weakness. I know I should be setting goals, but I just don’t. Design Camp would give me the tools and incentive to establish the infrastructure to really make my practice soar. Send me!

I would love the opportunity to attend the Design Camp. I have made a career change from landscape design to interior design…however, I am so new to the field that I am not exactly sure how to get started…..What is the industry standard for design software, marketing, promoting, networking…..etc… I took a business class in creating a letter of intent. However, I am here isolated not knowing how to jump start the career change. This is exactly what I need right now….so I am hoping that I am considered for a free ticket to this….it would be opening a window of knowledge to jump start my career.

This giveaway could not have come at a better time. I’ve been struggling to find a way to break into the interior design world while balancing my 9 to 5 corporate job in a totally unrelated field. I know I’m passionate about it, because I spend hours pouring through interior design blogs and have subscribed to Elle Decor and House Beautiful magazines, and my favorite show is HGTV. I would love for a chance to attend the Design Camp, as it would give me the push and direction that I need to get started in the interior design world. Thanks for your consideration!

I would love to win as I now reside in Charleston but still have client work in Atlanta & will continue to keep that secondary office. With that said, the move has set me back somewhat from the fast pace I was gaining just prior to the move. I have two daughters (8 & 5) and after working/being a mom equal amounts it was starting to be more where I could take on more projects and volunteer more with ASID. I love being a mom but I know I can have both! Then, as said, the move. So, I’ve been adjusting, getting girls adjusting, learning my way around here (& loving it ~hard not too) and now getting to know all my local SC reps. It feels almost like starting over again. Design Camp would be just what this gal needs! To reconnect w/my ATL peers & showrooms, get {re-focused} on the business side of things and have the confidence to know I can run both offices full-steam ahead without worries. I hope I am selected ~ would be a joy to be there! Thank you~ Margaret
