This post (and many more) are long over due – please forgive me. I have been a bad blogger as of late. With each passing day my book deadline draws nearer (funny how that works) and most days are spent writing and editing and sorting through images. I am so excited with the direction of the book and can’t wait to share more with all of you. My editor has been brilliant to work with and Doug Turshen (the book designer) is AMAZING! That said I have missed my blog and all of you. Stay with me just a bit longer…

I was in LA in February to speak at (and attend) the Design Blogger Conference. I left feeling very inspired by some amazing people. One of the topics I (and many others) talked about was change, staying ahead of the curve, and knowing when to pull back and find balance. I mentioned that I have been happy with the “visual layout” of my blog, but I feared that it was not user friendly. I also recognized that the format was not conducive to iPhones and iPads. So I took my own advice (“make changes when needed”) and I switched to a new layout. I hope and believe this one is easier to navigate and will allow for easy browsing and interaction. All of you will ultimately be the judge (and it is still a work in progress).

While in LA a couple of friends hosted a few gatherings to celebrate my upcoming book. A special thanks to Suzanne Rheinstein and Hutton Wilkinson for their hospitality. Hutton’s new home, next door to the famed ‘Dawnridge’, will be featured in Designers at Home: Personal Reflections on Stylish Living. Michael Partenio (the other half of Dune and Duchess) photographed the house during our time in California and the images are stunning. Here are few images of Ruth and Hutton’s new home (and our time in LA) shot by my friend and designer Bradley Clifford. Enjoy.

Francine it is a huge time commitment…but very rewarding! I am ‘stressed’ many days but I never feel stressed out. I am skipping DLS this year. It’s two weeks before my deadline and I just can’t afford to be away. I hate that I will miss seeing you! xo

Ronda, congratulations on the book! And I am happy to see you among the blogging folks again!
We spend time in LA and of course Beverly Hills over X-mas and I miss it!
You look wonderful. May your book be a huge success!

How exciting to have a book in the making! The conference must have been very inspring and motivating as well. Love those glass drop-shaped pendants – they’d fit right in here in Seattle! :)

      Hey there!

When I first clicked over to read your blog . . . my response was “good lord, someone’s hacked Ronda’s blog and completely changed the format!” So I’m especially relieved to know that YOU created this beautiful new design . . . and I’m excited to experiment with it over the next few days and weeks.

Lovely as always to see you in LA . . . and can’t wait to see the book – clearly!

      Cheers and all that,
      Scot
