Every time that I am in town, my friends Michael Devine and Thomas Burak host me (and my family) for dinner at their beautiful apartment. For a change we thought that it would be fun to go out for dinner.  They selected the newly opened Brio NYC. During dinner Michael and I decided that it would be interesting to do a He Said / She Said blog post.

    This is my version:
Thomas and Michael seemed most impressed with the flawlessness of the service and the quality of the food, considering it is a new restaurant. Quite honestly, almost every restaurant in NYC is new to me; so I was more focused on talking, drinking wine, staring at the décor and devouring my soup.

I love everything about this restaurant. The owner, Damien Scoditti, son of the owner of the Upper Eastside restaurant Brio, is super friendly, knowledgeable and very on the ball.

Located at the corner of 21st and Broadway, in the shadow of the Flatiron building, Brio NYC serves wonderful (and wonderfully priced) regional Italian food in a beautifully appointed atmosphere. The space was designed by architect and designer Tony Chi. I adore the mix of glass, mirrors and lights. It gives the space a very glamorous and cozy feel.

This is one restaurant that I will frequent whenever I am in New York. Oh, and for the record, we ended up having dinner at Michael and Thomas’s home the next night! Thank you both. And be sure to read Michael’s version here.

Brio looks wonderful! I love the tile floor, that custom light fixture, and the lime green. A great suggestion for a stop in NYC!

We were so pleased to provide the tile for this well received restaurant. Now we just want to get up that way for a taste of the wonder food! Thanks for blogging w/ such detailed photos. Best wishes, Lundy & Dave
