One designer I like and see work from time to time is California based designer Lynn Von Kersting. Her home has been featured in a couple of Chris Madden’s books, but there is little information about her on the web. At one time she owned (and perhaps still does) Indigo Seas in Los Angeles. I believe she and her husband also own The Ivy in L.A. If you have more information about her work or other photos, I’d love to hear from you.

i adore the peachy pink room at the top!
I agree with Amy- love the first room. Thanks for sharing- I was not familiar with Von Kersting’s work!
Just FYI, for anyone who is interested: there are many images of Von Kersting’s home in Caroline Clifton Mogg’s “Textile Style.” Most are detail images and some have captions that mention Von Kersting but quite a few don’t. The pictures are seriously lush!
I too looove Von Kersting’s work. In fact, I was just doing a random google search on her to see if anything new had appeared on the web which is what let me to your site.
I don’t know of anywhere new to offer you to view her work except the Chris Maddon Books. I first saw her work in a Traditional Home magazine last March. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
Does anyone have an idea where Von Kersting’s new book can be found? I adore her work and have held my breath that someday she might do a book. Now there is one but I can’t find where to purchase it!! Help!! Does anyone know?? THanks.
Love Lynn Von Kersting’s work too. I am looking for an old article one her work from the early 90′s called “Ordering Up An Aura” that was in House Beautiful. Does anyone know where I can find a copy. I would order a back issue but I don’t know the issue or the month. My blog is projectecoart.wordpress.com
Thanks!
FYI there are great pics of Lynn Von Kersting’s work on http://malibumediterranean.wordpress.com
Gosh, I’m so enjoying reading your blog! We have so much in common! I’m looking at my crystal votives right now and I love Lynn Von Kersting. I practically lived at Indigo Seas (and HollyHock) when I was in L.A. I’m from Houston. Check out my blog if you have the inclination.

I am a huge fan of Lynn von Kersting. I see her work fairly often in magazines and it is so distinctive that I recognize it even before I read the credits. She has recently published a book called “La Strada della Dolce Vita”. It is a limited-edition, self published, 202 page book. It sells for $68 and is available only at her shop, Indigo Seas. You can call 310-550-8758 to order it.
Great post! I just dug up some photos of her store, Indigo Seas if you’d like to check them out on my blog
